How to Make an Eight Flower Diamond Earring

Not to be confused with using actual diamonds, though. We're just using glass beads

Too Long, Don't Want Commentary: ~120 8/0 size glass beads, 2 x 5 fingerfuls (approx. 35 cm) of wire or string, earring hook, tiny metal hoops, elmer's glue, either small scissors or pliers (to cut wire and open the metal hoops).

So you will need beads: I always use 8/0 size glass beads, which you can get from michael's, hobby lobby or probably amazon but I haven't tried that one. You could also use slightly larger 6/0 glass beads. You could also use another kind of bead, although I haven't tried any other kinds so I don't know if they might turn out wonky. For this project, you will need approximately 120 beads of your chosen color(s).

You will also need wire or string/thread. I use 5 fingerfuls of wire for these with glass beads per earring, and since my finger is about 7 cm around that's about 35 cm of wire (your mileage may vary, both with bead size and finger size). I recommend using a medium wire, easily workable but not enough so it will break after being played with too much. I also recommend wire over thread, as it's hardier and easier to "tie off".

Along with those, you need earring hooks, those tiny metal loops (as seen in my examples, just below the earring hooks), small scissors or pliers to open and close the loops and cut the wire, and elmer's glue (although any kind of glue will do). The glue is to glue the metal loops so they have NO opening, as otherwise the wire will escape and the "earring" part of your earring will fall off.

Unfortunately a tutorial for these is not yet up, since the website is (as always) a work in progress. Check back later for some step-by-step instructions on how to make these, but for now you just have the pictures of the ones I've made :P
